A special Thank You to the Oak Hills PTA

February is PTA Founder's Month. The Highlander Connection dedicates this to the men and women in the Oak Hills community who have stepped up and continue to do so for the children.

The PTA in the Oak Hills District is a great friend to education, providing support for programs and resources that will ensure student success. The face of PTA has changed over the years, but the message remains the same.

PTA Mission

  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community and before government bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
  • To encourage parents and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

PTA PURPOSE

  • To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The "Eagle Eye"

The “Eagle Eye” is published monthly by the Delhi PTA and sent home with students the first week of the month.  Deadline for the “Eagle Eye” is the 21th of each month.

PTA Meeting Schedule

PTA Board meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center.   Board meetings are open to all paying members of the Delhi PTA.   Attending board meetings is a great way to learn more about the PTA and Delhi Middle School.   If you are interested in attending, please call the office to confirm the date.

To verify the dates of the PTA meetings, please check the district calendar.

PTA Unit Meetings are held several times throughout the year to get approval for the general membership on major issues and expenditures.   The Unit Meetings are held prior to a scheduled school event such as a concert, musical or award ceremony.
